For more than a century and half, The Gazette has served the residents of the Unadilla and Butternut valleys by providing a weekly report of news, information, sports and entertainment important to their lives in these rural communities. The newspaper has a rich and lengthy history, and over the years evolved as an amalgam of several small community weeklies, becoming the far-reaching publication it is today primarily covering the communities of New Berlin, South New Berlin, Gilbertsville, Mt. Mt. Upton, Morris, Brookfield and Edmeston. Hometown correspondents from each of these small hamlets contribute to the old-fashioned feel of the newspaper, with both news of wide import and "talk of the town" appeal.Snyder Communications purchased The Gazette in 1995, when the previous owners announced they would cease publication. The addition of this small weekly into a family of companies which includes Chenango Countys Hometown daily newspaper, The Evening Sun, ensured that the voices of these small but vital towns would be heard for years to come. The Norwich Gazette is in the Binghamton, NY DMA. The Norwich Gazette offers ROP and insert advertising opportunities in its weekly circulation. Echo Media has direct relationships with over 7,500 newspapers providing tremendous local coverage.
