Founded in 1989, the PASADENA JOURNAL began to fill a void in the community. It was first published bi-monthly, with 500 papers circulating in the cities of Pasadena and Altadena. The SAN GABRIEL VALLEY JOURNAL began in 1990 as a result of overwhelming community support to expand to surrounding areas. Today, its publications reach eight cities and 20,000 readers in the San Gabriel Valley each week.The goal is to highlight those people and events that make people love living and working in Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Monrovia, Duarte, Baldwin Park, West Covina, Arcadia and the surrounding cities with a sense of hope for the future. While the primary market is the African-American community in the cities of the San Gabriel Valley, its readers are as ethnically diverse as the cities it serves. The Pasadena San Gabriel Valley Journal is in the Los Angeles, CA DMA. It is Pasadena's locally owned and operated independent newspaper serving the African-American community. The Pasadena San Gabriel Valley Journal offers ROP and insert advertising opportunities in its weekly circulation. It serves Pasadena, Altadena and the San Gabriel Valley.
