U.S. Hispanic purchasing power has surged to over $769 billion and is projected to reach as much as $1 trillion by 2008, according to estimates by Hispan Telligence. The rate of growth is nearly three times the overall national rate of the past decade and has propelled the aggregate disposable income of the nation’s largest minority group to $769 billion in 2005, according to a Hispan Telligence analysis of data recently released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Given this compelling data on spending, it is not surprising that advertisers are anxious to enter into the Hispanic marketplace. “Yellow Pages” directories are an easy point of entry and can be purchased on a market level to support local businesses, or through a network to achieve national coverage.
