The Tahlequah Daily Press is a five-day-a-week newspaper, published Tuesday through Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. The newspaper's primary markets are the city of Tahlequah and Cherokee County.Tahlequah is 67 miles south of Tulsa and 65 miles northwest of Fort Smith, Ark. The city is at the heart of Cherokee County, located in the Ozark foothills of eastern Oklahoma. According to the recent census, the area is touted as one of the fastest growing in the state of Oklahoma.Tahlequah is home to Northeaster State University and the Cherokee Nation, as well as the Illinois River and Lake Tenkiller.
