Mail Direct of Iowa, Inc. [a.k.a.
"Wal-Mart-Midwest"] and
MailSouth, Inc. announced on March 11, 2003 that MailSouth has acquired certain assets-including all shared mail market areas-of Mail Direct of Iowa. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The markets have transitioned from MDI to MailSouth beginning with the April 29/30, 2003 in-home date. These additional market areas in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin will increase MailSouth's reach to nearly 9,500,000 households in fifteen states.
MailSouth specializes in shared mail advertising services in which advertising circulars and flyers of multiple retailers and service businesses are collated into a single package and then direct-mailed to every household in a given market area with targeting selectivity by postal zip code, neighborhood or specific demographic variable.
